The Importance and Formation of Creative Sources in the Creative Process
Main Article Content
Abstract
The creative process in fashion design is a structured yet flexible system that transforms abstract ideas into tangible visual outcomes. One of the most essential tools within this process is the moodboard, which serves as a visual and conceptual foundation for design development. This article explores the importance of moodboard usage in fashion design, focusing on its role in idea generation, conceptual clarity, and visual communication. The study reveals that moodboards help designers organize inspiration, define aesthetic direction, and establish coherence within collections. By integrating colors, textures, forms, and references, moodboards enable designers to experiment visually before moving to the production stage. This process enhances creativity by allowing multiple variations and interpretations of a concept. Furthermore, moodboards facilitate communication between designers and other stakeholders, ensuring that the creative vision is clearly understood and consistently applied. They also support the development of a unique design language and contribute to the originality of fashion collections. Based on visual analysis and structured evaluation, the research concludes that moodboards are not only supportive tools but fundamental elements in the creative design process. Their proper use significantly improves the quality, consistency, and clarity of design outcomes.
